a note from Greg...
April, 1999
I have been quite busy traveling and preaching. In the past two months, I preached in meetings throughout Florida, New York, Texas, and Louisiana. Last week, I had the joy of returning to preach the Gospel in the state prison in Raiford, FL (where death row is housed). It was in the chapel in this prison that Lydia and I had our very first opportunity to preach sixteen years ago.
God has been moving very powerfully in the meetings as I travel and preach. We are continuing to see many people respond to the altar calls. I believe that this is the most important part of our work: to preach the Gospel and give people the opportunity to publicly profess Jesus as Savior and Lord. It is common to see one-third to two-thirds of the people in attendance respond to the altar call making a first-time, public acceptance of Jesus as Savior.
God has been moving very powerfully as we pray for healing and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in these meetings. In one meeting this month, an older lady came up for prayer. She had constant, intense pain in her back and also constant pain in her knees. I prayed for her in the name of Jesus and asked her to begin to move her back. She had a look of surprise on her face as the pain was gone. I said, "Now move your knees in Jesus' name!" She began to freely move her knees and tears of joy flooded down her face. Glory be to God!
Love in Christ Jesus,
